The Litchfield Recreation Commission is responsible for 6 recreational facilities in town:

  • Roy Memorial Park* (aka "Darrah Pond")

  • Justin Bissett Memorial Complex* (aka "Jeff Lane")

  • Scott Innes Sr. Field* (aka "Brickyard")

  • Corning Fields* on Brook Rd.

  • John Bryant River Access

  • Parker Park

Note: Fields and facilities at the schools in town are managed by the schools, and the community room at the fire station is managed by the Fire Department, not the Recreation Commission.

Roy Memorial Park

Roy Memorial Park is the largest recreational facility in town. Located at 2 Wood Hawk Way, it is home to Darrah Pond (its local nickname), 3 softball fields that double as a soccer field, 2 outdoor basketball courts, a playground, a pavilion with picnic tables, a snack shack (used during softball games), and Talent Hall, which includes a basketball court and a stage. The high and low ropes courses are available for use only with qualified supervision.

Corning Fields are on Brook Rd. Field 1 is on the south (nearest the parking lot); field 2 is on the north, farthest form the parking lot.

Scott Innes Sr. Field is east of of Brickyard Dr. near Nakomo Dr. The 11v11 field is on the east, nearer to the street; the 6v6 field is on the west, farther from the street.

Parker Park is a small, rustic park for walking, fishing, relaxing
